We are seeking a hard-working, innovative, detail-oriented and creative team player to join our Aptive team! This is a full-time Senior PHP Software Engineer position located remotely in the United States. The individual we are looking for is someone who enjoys working in a team environment and excels at an individual level.

Compensation: $140k-150k annually

Responsibilities:
Strong knowledge and understanding of PHP, Laravel, MySQL, Javascript, Git, Jira, API development, and AWS
Solve technical problems by working closely with Agile scrum masters, UX, product managers, and remote teams
Review and correct code for quality and design
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Manage the delicate balance between implementation complexity, time to market, scalability, and resiliency
Working knowledge of database and code architecture best practices
Design high-performance database schema and code architecture
Empower remote teams to deliver stable, high-performing, and reliable code through regular interactions with remote teams in the mornings
Contribute significantly to sprints, meet sprint deadlines, help other team members with their sprint commitments, and take the lead on urgent tasks
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
Public GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket page so we can check out your code
Requirements:
5+ years of PHP development experience with Laravel (or other similar languages like C, C++, C#, Java, C# and .net work as well)
Experience writing SQL queries
2+ years of experience in performance optimization, debugging and unit testing
Prior experience using AI technology
Prior experience using AI technology, including GitHub CoPilot Agent, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor
